Tony Dumper
The Right Reverend Anthony Charles Dumper (4 October 1923 - 27 August 2012) was the suffragan Bishop of Dudley from 1977 until 1993〔The Times, Wednesday, Jan 05, 1977; pg. 14; Issue 59900; col C ''Church news New bishop suffragan''〕 and the first area bishop under the Worcester diocese area scheme from 1993.〔(GS 1445: Report of the Dioceses Commission, Diocese of Worcester ) (Accessed 23 April 2014)〕 Dumper was educated at Christ's College, Cambridge.〔Who's Who 2008: London, A & C Black ISBN 978-0-7136-8555-8〕 As a pacifist, he was a conscientious objector during the Second World War, working on the land.〔(Westcott Bulletin )〕 Hw was ordained in 1947, and began his ecclesiastical career with a Curacy in Greenwich.〔Crockford's Clerical Directory2008/2009 Lambeth, Church House Publishing ISBN 978-0-7151-1030-0〕 He went overseas to be Vicar of Perak and then Archdeacon of North Malaysia before his elevation to the Episcopate.
